ARGOLIS. Epidauros. Antoninus Pius, 138-161. Diassarion (Bronze, 23.5 mm, 8.70 g, 11 h). ΑΝΤΩ -[ΝΕΙΝΟC ΑΥΓ] Laureate head of Antoninus Pius to right. Rev. ΙΕΡΑC [ΕΠΙΔΑΥΡΟΥ] Asklepios seated left on throne, stretching his right hand toward the head of a snake coiled to left before him, and holding a long scepter with his left. NCP pl. L, iv. RPC 4638. Rare. Clear and with a attractive black patina. About very fine.
From the Maleatas and BCD Collections, said to have been found at Pheneus.
